Yamamoto GLR® is formulated in fast-dissolving sublingual (eng. sublingual) tablets, in order for Setria-Glutathione to be absorbed as quickly as possible via the sublingual venous circulation of the superior vena cava, thereby bypassing the intestinal activity of gamma-glutamyltransferase (absorption is realized already in the mouth), and avoiding the metabolic desire of enterocytes, bypassing the hepatic filter, simultaneously preventing metabolism in the liver.

GLR is a dietary supplement based on reduced glutathione (Setria), with vitamins C and selenium. It should be emphasized that both vitamins C and selenium contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress, while vitamin C also promotes the regeneration of the reduced form of vitamin E.

Glutathione is the first line of defense of the human body against oxidative stress, as well as against many xenobiotics to which our body is chronically exposed (toxins, medications, heavy metals, pesticides, etc.), which attack cells and enzymes in our body. The accumulation of oxidative damage in this sense promotes accelerated aging of the organism, thus opening the possibility for various diseases, degradation of physiological functions, which become less efficient and more susceptible to external attacks.

Moreover, there is a direct correlation between the aging process and a reduction in the concentration of intercellular glutathione, as well as a strong correlation between the increase in these concentrations and the increase in the percentage of survival. Supported by significant scientific experience and knowledge, it has been proven that the optimal level of glutathione is essential for supporting the functioning of the immune system, for the purpose of protecting and detoxifying the liver and kidneys, reducing the risk of chronic diseases and promoting the “youth” of the body. It is also called the master antioxidant, taking into account its ability to “recycle” other antioxidants, such as vitamins C, E, then alpha-lipoic acid, coenzyme Q10, and when glutathione levels increase, it also to the increase and activation of other antioxidants, which is certainly an excellent fact for our body! Its oral consumption has always been a controversial topic and as such was left aside, because the human intestines contain very important concentrations of the enzyme gamma-glutamyltranspeptidase, which degrades most of the absorbed glutathione, so the intake of even significant doses of glutathione or other precursors did not lead to conclusions that would indicated injection intake.

GLR is a new generation reduced glutathione supplement, which combines two special strategies, which synergistically improve the absorption and bioavailability of this highly valuable antioxidant, effectively promoting its oral use. GLR is ready in the form of tablets, through a formula specially patented by the Japanese international company “Kyowa Hakko”.
